There is a reception on Saturday for John K. Lawson's work that I am pretty excited about. I saw some of the work while it was being installed a couple of days ago. He was a New Orleans evacuee, and the work is made from salvaged drawings and other work. It is obviously serious work, it has a really sombre mood, but at times a kind of Joe Zucker energy.
