I (heart) Amy Sillman

On Sunday I stopped by the Hirshhorn to see the Third Person Singular expo as part of their Directions series. Amy Sillman's most recent paintings are in my humble opinion totally breaking Modernist ideas (structure, space, form) open and applying them directly to our contemporary ways of seeing and experiencing. Really powerful and inspiring work.

If one needs to validate her pursuits, the Duke is in the next gallery.

I also picked up the catalog for Bill Jensens' last show at Cheim and Read from the Hirshhorn remainder bin. Sorry kids last one. You snooze you loose.
