I was notified just today that I am a semi-finalist for a Bethesda Painting Award! I have to send them a bunch of paperwork and more images before they make their absolute, final decision. I stuck Cinecitta: Pollock versus Gorky in my submission too. I bet that confused 'em real good.Okay, so the still-life... I had expected to finish it off today. That is not the case. The "amoeba" in the center of that reproduction is really making me nuts. It was a late addition in the work day, and not the best idea, but not the worst mistake over the course of the painting either. Too much decoration without corresponding to any of the other parts. BUT if there is too much cohesion, where is the interest?
