Painter of Water

I was having an internal debate about how unified these paintings should, or even can, be throughout the series. As I have mentioned the paintings are going to change through this experience by virtue of my developing knowledge of how to make these paintings. However, as painters know -likely other people too- paintings, while en medias res, take on their own lives and require different solutions to visual problems. Even though those problems may appear in more than one painting, the context of the problem will change the required solution.

The larger question remains whether I let the paintings develop on their own or to impose some kind cohesiveness between them? I think that there is probably a middle passage to all this.
