Friday was a great studio day in which I painted three boots, two hats, and some cliffs inspired by the above Bernardo Bellotto. The granite cliff in my painting, which supports the Library of Congress, ended up looking a little more Neo Rauch than Bellotto. I am okay with that for the moment. I feel like it might be one of those situations where you leave the studio feeling great about the work you've done only to return the next day to find that you hate it. Just the nature of painting I suppose.
