Gobs of Goodness

I recently sat on a grant panel that was awarding money to organizations that were reaching out to/mentoring youth in THE most under served wards in my city. I was sitting on this panel by virtue of the fact that my studio and day job are in this ward.

It was inspiring and an honor to give gobs of money to groups that are doing really necessary outreach through arts programming in their community... and achieving pretty astounding results.

I met some cool people too. One panelist was from the Pen/Faulkner Foundation, one from the Washington Youth Choir, one from Double Nickles (a theatre group for seniors in Ward 7), and myself- "a painter based in Ward 8."
