This little guy is going at the same time. I like the small intestine quality of the volcano smoke. I also like how the smoke is filling the frame in the upper left. I haven't yet given the landscape a whole lot of thought, as though you couldn't tell. My gut instinct is to put some of those acne-like mountains in the middleground a la my hero G. Di Paolo.

OOOOO...I dig it. I really like the new paintings. I think they are really amazing (not that I don't like your older work). I need to see the new work in person. I think another studio visit needs to happen...with Belgium beer, of course.
It was suggested in polite conversation that I include a bay.That will help set off the space. Thanks Mary P!
