Not Painting, but Still Awesome

"One of the best..." according to Blake Gopnik. Remember that show I was telling you about? The Free Space one that I helped coordinate? It was reviewed in the Washington Post while I was painting water and clouds.

Friday Grab Bag

Pink Panel @ Flashpoint with Matthew Mann from The Pink Line Project on Vimeo.

Here is the excerpted panel discussion from last Wednesday. Without all of the ahhs and umms it comes in at a lean 17 minutes. I was actually going on for, like, an hour. I was also properly dressed in this one.

Send your prayers up to Matisse, Delacroix, Piero della Francesca, or whoever you pray to for the Phillips Collection

The City Paper "art picked" the EOR show that I am in. It closes today.

'Sup

Review from DCist. I like how he included the source image for the "Christmas Island" painting. Pretty insightful review, says I.

And a detail of the "Molotov" painting appears on the cover of East of the River where it is called "Molotov Slide". I actually like that title too. Like it's a dance or something.

Spy vs Spy vs Brueghel

The Four Ring Circus reception was great! Critical response was extremely positive. There was a lot of discussion about Spy vs. Spy and Brueghel. There was also a very flattering review in the Philadelphia Inquirer.

Now as I float back to earth from all of the positivity and reunions with old friends, I decided to start a drawing while I am in the building phase for the next big painting. It is a good activity while primers/glue/grounds dry.
