Triangle Theory

My New Year's gift to myself was a new 45/45/90 triangle with which to paint straight lines. I have to replace them every few years. The triangle pictured above have been employed here for about three weeks.

I have a theory that triangles are the basic most representation of Schelling's idea of opposition being the root of creation (Reality). Triangles, to me, seem to have just such an internal contrast. Plus, Renaissance "linear" perspective is based on the triangle. Just saying. The perspectives found in my paintings are based more on trapezoids and parallelograms. Again, just saying.
